To My Dad

Happy Father's Day to my dad. When I was writing this post I realized that there weren't a lot of photos of my dad with us. Not because he wasn't around, but because he was usually the one behind the camera. And probably for good reason - this is a great example of a photo taken by my mom (love you Mom!):

He could most often be found looking like this:

He carried that giant black box of a video camera around on his shoulder like it was nobody's business. And of course, when my sister finally got her own (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle) camera, her shots were focused on more arty things like beanbag chairs and roller skates:

And yes, it put a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle stamp in the corner of every photo. But without further ado, here are a few pictures that I did dig up of my dad. A guy who became a dad at the ripe old age of 21. A guy who has worked second or third shift since before I can remember to give us a good home and to keep us at home with our parents and out of daycare:

A dad who became a father to two little girls at the ripe old age of 23:

A dad who dealt with countless slumber parties filled with screaming girls. A dad who pretended to like getting the same mini tool set from Santa's Secret Shop every year for Christmas (except for the year when we got him a basket full of...wait for it...pretzels!)

A dad who taught us how to fish and helped us learn to boogey board.

A dad who had one girly girl and one tom boy and loved us both for who we were and are:

A dad who made the best spaghetti and could build the perfect snowman:

A dad who would beat Super Mario Brothers 2 and Contra over and over again at our request. A dad who spent hours working on our pool so that we could have hours of fun in it. A dad who dealt with plenty of our (mostly my) frogs while we looked for our princes. A dad who walked us down the aisle and danced with us at our weddings. A dad who is the best Pop Pop any little girl could have:

Thank you to my dad for all that you've done for us over the years! We all hope for many more years to come. We love you very very much. XOXO
